Testimonies from Gypsy community

A few weeks ago a man named Luiz invited us into his house. He shared that he had been having nightmares and couldn’t sleep, and asked us to pray over him and his family. As we continued talking, we found out that in the past Luiz had run over a person while driving and the person did not survive. He had served a term in prison for involuntary manslaughter and was released, but the guilt over killing a person kept burdening him. We shared the Gospel with him and he gave his life to Jesus.

When we visited Luiz a few days later he told us that he did not have the nightmares anymore and was able to sleep through the night! From then on we started going to Luiz’ house every week to keep instructing him and his family in the Word.

Two weeks ago we went to visit them again and met a lady named Prudencia. We shared the Gospel with her and prayed for her. A couple of days later Luiz called and told us that Prudencia’s husband Paulo wanted us to come to his home as well.

When we went to Paulo’s house, he was waiting for us with Prudencia, his teenage son, his older son’s wife and two grandchildren. Paulo told us that Luiz shared with him what Jesus had done, and now he wanted to give his life to Jesus, too. For years Paulo has been struggling with multiple sclerosis, and his 24-year-old son has been involved in drugs since his late teens. We shared the Gospel with the family, led them to the Lord and prayed for the baptism of the Holy Spirit for all of them. There was such a strong presence of God in that room!

Last Saturday as we were at Luiz’ house again, a lady named Vanessa gave her life to Jesus. Please pray for Luiz and his family, Paulo and his family and Vanessa to continue growing in the Lord. Please pray for Paulo’s son Paulo who is a drug addict. We are looking for a chance to sit down with him to talk about the Lord and possibly guide him to a Christian rehab.

We continue going to the gypsy community several times a week doing activities with children and women. One of the girls (Ariele) had several warts on her hand that were painful and some other kids were making fun of. Altogether we prayed for healing, and when we came the following week Ariele told us that all the warts fell off! This testimony really encouraged all the kids to pray for each other.

Testimonies from our Team Members

Two missionaries on our team (Sara and Raphael) have Usher syndrome, a rare genetic disease that causes progressive vision and hearing loss. Naturally, there is no cure for this disease, but we always pray for healing for both of them.

Recently, Raphael went to do his routine eye check and to everybody’s surprise the doctor said that there was an improvement in one of his eyes!

A few days later Sara went to see an ophthalmologist, and she had enough money just for the visit. As she was in the doctor’s office he did various tests and then he cleaned her retina (in the eye she was blind) with a special laser. Sara started seeing immediately with that eye! Then the doctor told her that there is this new laser treatment that, if it is done continuously, will keep her retina clean and able to see. He told her that it is an expensive treatment but he will try to find a way for her to get this treatment for free. When Sara was out of the doctors office with only 45 euros in her pocket to pay for the visit, she was told that the bill total was 350 euros including all the tests and laser treatment, but the doctor decided to gift her the tests and treatment, so she had to pay only 45 euros. Praise God!

For hunger and salvations in Gypsy and African communities
For those who have accepted Jesus: for growth in the Lord, for renewal of their minds, for strength to break off old habits and cultural strongholds
