A Life Given to God

Written by Jillian Stiner

In September 2024 our Bar Outreach team met a woman who was working in the bar. As they talked she shared that she has been diagnosed with lung disease. She struggled for every breath with great pain. She also revealed that she was an orphan with no family or support for most of her life. As soon as we met her we knew that God had led us to her for a reason.
Over the course of a few days our team brought her medicine and food, visited her home, prayed for her, and shared the Good News with her multiple times.
At the end of that week, during a worship night at our prayer room in the red light district, some of us felt faith arise and we decided to go to the bar again to pray for her and share the Gospel with her once more. Others stayed in the prayer room to pray while a few of us went to meet with her.
That night she gave her life to Jesus and voluntarily cut off her spirit bracelet! Our team has continued to support her, taking her to doctor’s appointments, and actively trying to find a solution for her to step into a better life.
We are so thankful for God meeting her and to see another soul come into His kingdom! Jesus is alive and moving in the Red Light District of Phnom Penh!
