Yesterday we laid the first stone of our new church building — hallelujah! With musicians out in front and pastors, leaders, children, staff and missionaries following, we sang our way from the Prayer Hut to the front of the property. There were roughly-hewn beams and string lines denoting the boundaries of the new church and cement being mixed in preparation for laying of the first of many cement blocks that will, one day soon, form the new church.
With prayer and celebration, we thanked God for His provision. We honoured the church in Sydney, Australia who gave us the finances for this first step. We prayed over the land and for the workers who will be doing the building. We generously anointed the foundation stone with oil and committed every step of the coming work to the Lord.
We continue to pray for the rest of the finances needed to complete this much-needed building. It will be a church large enough to fit in the many people who come for Sunday and Thursday services. There will be offices for pastors and staff.
First of all, we begin with the Prayer Room which has been just a dream in the hearts of many until today. And so we rejoice as we begin the task of building and watch as we see dreams come to life. Today, the foundation is being laid for a place we know will be a hub for Christian activity in the nation and a beacon shining as a testament to the goodness of God. He is faithful!
